Cloned Credit Cards

Apr 26 | 2016  by

The use of stolen credit cards continues to rise substantially, and the methods by which Identity Theft can happen are becoming more and more sophisticated. Cloned credit cards can be created by individuals who use “skimmers” to steal the information off of a person’s legitimate credit card, and then copy that information onto another card.

Oftentimes, those persons use stolen gift cards or other stolen credit cards as “clones” and begin purchasing items using the victim’s stolen information. The criminal laws used to prosecute these cases are complex, however, and many defense attorneys don’t have the background in financial crimes to know how to defend these cases either.

Make sure that if you are charged with one of these offenses, you contact an attorney who understands Michigan’s financial crimes and what is necessary to present an adequate defense. If you believe you have been wrongly accused of a financial crime or any other criminal offense in the State of Michigan, contact Fausone & Grysko, PLC today at (248) 380-0000.
