Terry B. Priest attended undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University, graduating in 1993. He then spent over 25 years as a police officer for a local police department, reaching the rank of Detective Lieutenant before retiring and working full-time as an attorney. Terry received numerous awards as a police officer and served on the patrol and command Executive Union Board. He attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School while working and graduated in 2016. Terry Priest concentrates his practice on criminal and family law and as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Westland.

In his free time, Terry enjoys playing hockey and watching Detroit-area sports.
